DOORNKLOOF (HILLSTEAD)
Situated in an area dominated by sour veld farms, Hillstead is uniquely composed of mostly sweet veld.
With an annual rainfall of 550mm per year measured over the last 17 years and carrying capacity of 4 hectares to 1 Large Stock Unit on the veld, it is surveyed as being 647 hectares in extent, with 16,5 hectares developed for irrigation. The Koonap River runs along the entire Southern Boundary of the farm, which comprises over 4 km of river frontage. The developed pastures all lie on the banks of the Koonap River and the dragline irrigation system is fed out of the river and capable of being supplemented by a borehole.
A number of strong fountains feed down the banks of the Farm, through stock dams and into the Koonap River making for more than adequate stock waters for both small and large stock. Additionally, solar pumps feed to tanks, reservoirs and troughs to supplement the already constant supply of water from the fountains, dams and river.
The road system, and other infrastructure is in good condition and fencing is stock proof.
Additional infrastructure includes small stock handling facilities, a stock shelter shed covering approximately 250 square meters and a 110 square meter lucerne storage shed.
There are no houses or staff houses on the Farm.
The sprinklers and drag line hoses are not included in the sale of the Farm.
